Howard Gardner est un psychologue cognitif américain, né le 11 juillet 1943 à Scranton en Pennsylvanie.
Il est surtout connu pour sa théorie des intelligences multiples, qui postule que l’intelligence ne se résume pas à une seule aptitude générale, mais qu’elle est constituée de plusieurs formes d’intelligence, telles que l’intelligence linguistique, logique-mathématique, spatiale, kinesthésique, musicale, interpersonnelle et intrapersonnelle.
Gardner est professeur de cognition et d’éducation à la Harvard Graduate School of Education, où il a également fondé le Project Zero, un groupe de recherche interdisciplinaire consacré à l’étude de l’apprentissage, de l’intelligence, de la créativité et de la pensée critique. Il a publié de nombreux ouvrages sur les intelligences multiples et leur application à l’éducation. [1, 2, 3, 4]
